Edward Skaines

Edward (He/Him) is an Australian actor currently living in Paris, France.

He graduated from the Actors Centre Australia in 2012. There he developed a rich appreciation of skills and techniques in exploring the roles of Randyramoff in Gogol’s The Marriage (2011) directed by Jospeh Uchitel, Feste in Twelth Night(2011) directed by Simon Hunt and Williamson and Roma in David Mamets Glengarry Glen Ross directed by Gale Edwards in his final year.

Since graduating he has continued developing his skills under the mentorship of is Australian agent Focus Talent Management, and that of Joseph Uchitel . He has also been working along side playwrights Stephen Sewell and Noel Hodda. Ed has been involved in several projects ranging from feature films, feature length shorts, creative developments, new experimental physical theatre performances and new Australian play readings.

For the past 8 years Ed has been working with U.S management and industry mentor Lilly Dawson, a casting director from Melbourne currently based in Los Angeles and the Creative Director of the Hollywood Immersive Program. Ed’s work with Lilly, has built his profile in the United States making him a regular name in auditions for episodic seasons, pilot season, and block buster studios call outs.

Ed has since been in the contending for roles in shows like Teen Wolf, General Hospital, Revenge, The Last Kingdom and Shadow Hunters to name a few.

He has continued developing under the tutorship of acting coaches Lisa Robertson, Howard Fine, Margie Haber, Ivana Chubbuck, Anthony Brandon Wong and Michael Petted at the Beverly Hills Playhouse.

Since relocating to Paris Ed has studied under master clown teacher Philippe Gaulier at his school Ecole Philippe Gaulier, Teatr ZAR company in Poland, and with Theodoros Terzopoulos at the ATTIS Theatre in Athens. Fusing his extensive set of skills, including his recent return from Chengdu, China where he studied Kung Fu with 34th generation Shaolin Warrior Monks at the Shaolin Temple Yunnan.

Ed is in developments of his own original works for both stage and film.

Establishing his own production company Seer Productions which has long been in development. SP is dedicated to creating new and experientially exciting work in multiple performance avenues. He is currently in development of his new Sydney based theatre company Shiloh Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new Australian works and a physical approach to theatre making.
